National Forest and Wildlife Inventory ( IFFN )

Started in March 2019, the National Forest and Wildlife Inventory, scheduled to last two years, aims to update data on forest and wildlife resources in Ivory Coast, allowing the Governement to employ relevant tools to ensure optimal management of its resources. It is important to recall that the implementation of this important project benefits from the financial support of the French Development Agency (AFD) through the C2D « Debt Reduction and Development Contract » programme.

A Steering Committee (COPIL), composed of 12 Statutory Members, assisted by the C2D Technical Secretariat (ST/C2D) and the French agency of development  (AFD) as main observers, ensures the regular monitoring of the project in order to find solutions to any difficulties that could hinder the achievement of the project’s objectives.

– The Forest Development Corporation (SODEFOR) for Forest Inventory ;

– The Office of Parks and Reserves (OIPR) for the Wildlife Inventory;

The National Rural Development Agency (ANADER) for the socio-economic component.

The Steering Committee (COPIL) met in extraordinary session on Thursday 28 May 2020 from 09:30 to 14:00 at the Palm Club Hotel in the Cocody commune of Abidjan. This extraordinary session was led by the Deputy Director of Cabinet of the Ministry of Water and Forestry (MINEF), Colonel-Major ME KOUAME Martial, representing the Chairman of the Committee, assessing the progress of the works and take the necessary orientations for the good progress of the Project, which was done by COPIL.

State Financial Support to the Private Sector

Now that the conditions of access to government financial support are known, companies wishing to benefit from it have begun to submit their files.

It is important to remind all operators that this support is rerundable with an interest rate, which is not negligible for companies already affected by the health crisis.
