Gabon Special Economic Zone (GSEZ) SA is a joint venture of Gabonese Republic, Olam International and African Finance Corporation with a mandate to develop infrastructure in the country to enhance the country’s industrial competitiveness and build a business friendly ecosystem.

 

GSEZ SA started development of 1126 ha Special Economic Zone at Nkok (20 Km from the capital city of Libreville) in 2010 after ban on exports of raw timber to provide amenable ecosystem and world class infrastructure to facilitate the secondary and tertiary processing of timber and other natural resources within Gabon. GSEZ SA is a developer as well as O&M Authority for SEZ at Nkok and operates & maintains infrastructure and utilities within SEZ.

 

As of now, around 600 ha of this timber focused multi-product SEZ is fully developed and operational. SEZ at Nkok currently has 122 customers from 16 nationalities and foreign direct investment expected is more than USD$ 1.7 billion. As on date, 23 companies are already under production and another 32 companies are in different stages of construction. It is expected that more than 50 companies will be under commercial production by Mid-2017.

 

Gabon Special Economic Zone is fast emerging as the West Central Africa’s manufacturing hub and entrepreneurs from across the globe are welcome to benefit from the business opportunities unlocked by SEZ at Nkok.
