ATIBT took part in the conference “Time to Deliver: Business Needs Effective EUDR Implementation Now,” held on November 5, 2025, at the European Parliament in Brussels, at the invitation of MEP Pascal Canfin.
Our member Precious Woods represented ATIBT at the conference, alongside stakeholders from several sectors (wood, cocoa, coffee, rubber, palm oil, etc.), united around a common message: supporting the effective implementation of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) within a clear and realistic operational framework.
During his speech, Markus Pfannkuch, Co-CEO of Precious Woods, recalled the tropical timber sector's experience in applying the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) and emphasized that:
"We have been applying due diligence for more than ten years. The EUDR finally puts all raw materials on the same level, which is a real level playing field. The challenge today is not commitment, but uncertainty."
This exchange reaffirmed the importance of traceability, due diligence, and shared responsibility in implementing the regulation, as well as the need for technical support to ensure its effectiveness.
