16.02.2024

Control Union recently obtained accreditation from the certification body TUNAC (Tunisian Accreditation Council) to carry out PAFC forest certification audits in the Congo Basin. This accreditation strengthens Control Union's position as a key player in the field of certification and sustainability.

TUNAC accreditation: an important milestone

The accreditation issued by TUNAC authorises Control Union to conduct audits in Gabon, Cameroon and the Republic of Congo, in accordance with the PAFC (Pan African Forest Certification) Congo Basin forest certification scheme. This accreditation demonstrates Control Union's continued commitment to the highest standards of sustainable forest management.

Positive impact on conservation and sustainability

The Congo Basin is home to one of the largest tracts of tropical forest in the world and plays a crucial role in regulating the global climate. Control Union's involvement in forest certification will help to promote responsible management practices. Audits carried out as part of the PAFC certification scheme for the Congo Basin will ensure that forestry practices comply with international standards, thereby strengthening the credibility of players in the sector.
