Rail Europe is part of the Lambert Group’s Rail Cluster, a French family-owned industrial group headquartered in the Ardennes. The Lambert Group’s rail division offers oak and tropical timber sleepers and concrete sleepers and turnouts, as well as a wide range of rail fastening equipment.
The Group is also involved in collection, recovery, recycling and cogeneration of used wooden sleepers and the development of the circular economy at large. The Lambert Group Rail Cluster, in particular via Rail Europe, is a major player in Europe in the European railway landscape. In 2016, Rail Europe took a majority stake in Somivab, a tropical wood sawmill in Gabon in order to control its supplies and with the desire to better satisfy its customers via its storage platform of tropical sleepers, unprecedented in Europe.
