Founded in 1958, UNICONGO (Union Patronale et Interprofessionnelles du Congo) is an employers' association governed by the 1901 Law. Its members are grouped into 12 professional federations with a national vocation. Each federation has a board headed by a President, assisted by a Vice-President.

The Union represents private sector companies in the Congo and defends their interests with public and institutional authorities.

With the aim of improving the business climate and contributing to the development of the Congolese economy, the Union informs, accompanies and advises these companies confronted with the mutations of an economy formerly dominated by the public sector, and today, strongly impregnated with the context of globalization.

It also works to promote and encourage the implementation of a policy of enterprise development.

Being the most representative employers' organization of the private sector in Congo, UNICONGO is a member of the International Organization of Employers and participates in the International Labour Conference, in all the consultations organized at the level of Central Africa by the CEMAC and the ECCAS and in the development support organizations involving the private sector. Within the framework of the partnership that binds it to the public authorities, at the national level UNICONGO is a member of various committees and commissions and sits on the boards of directors of various public establishments and social organizations (CNSS and ONEMO).
