World Forest ID is an international non-profit organization which aims to protect the world’s forests through science-based solutions for product verification.
To implement our vision, World Forest ID is building a global library of georeferenced tree and forest risk commodity samples, along with methods of analysis that allows organizations to determine if wood and agricultural products are sourced from the locations claimed. By enabling the testing of origin and identity of finished products, World Forest ID is revolutionizing the way illegal logging and deforestation are tackled.
By joining AITBT, World Forest ID expect to identify potential donors to support the activities, to initiate new partnerships with scientific institutions and to be involved in the debate regarding the fight against deforestation, soil degradation and illegal logging.
