Timbtrack is a forest monitoring platform developed by IBR SA, a Belgian software company dedicated to the forest and timber sector.
It enables users to follow, within a single tool, what happens in the forest, in the field and throughout timber flows, from the standing tree to the finished product.
Because this data is centralised as soon as it is collected, it also provides the basis for the information required under the EUDR.
A complete overview of the forest area.
Concessions, annual cutting areas, plots, logging roads, log yards, bridges, water points, villages and community-use areas: Timbtrack centralises and maps every element of a forest area, including data from QGIS or ArcGIS. Geolocated forest inventories, tree monitoring and field operations are recorded over time. They can be complemented by remote sensing and satellite monitoring of forest cover, forest health and changes across the area.
Operational monitoring from the field.
The mobile application works offline and synchronises as soon as a connection is available. Field teams record data where it is collected, while managers assign tasks and track their progress.
Continuous physical traceability.
Trees, logs, batches, stock in yards and warehouses, processing and export: each stage can be tracked using RFID tags, barcodes or QR codes. The technology is chosen according to the level of precision required, field conditions and budget.
Documents (permits, certificates, transport documents, etc.) are linked to the relevant batches, plots, suppliers and operations.
The EUDR, a natural outcome of the platform.
The EU Deforestation Regulation requires operators to demonstrate that timber has been legally produced and is deforestation-free, together with the geolocation of the plots where it was harvested. With Timbtrack, this information is not reconstructed after the fact: it is collected in the forest and remains linked tothe timber up to export. Due diligence information can therefore be prepared from existing data and shared with European buyers. The same data supports certification audits and legality verification.
A shared database for the whole sector.
Forest concession holders, sawmills and processors, importers, forest administrations, consulting firms and project developers can work from the same database. Through selective sharing, a plot, a batch or a forest area can be shared with aclient, an auditor or a partner without giving access to the entire platform.
Timbtrack connects with existing tools (ERP, forestry software, GIS, certification tools) to complement them. Data is hosted in Europe, and IBR SA also provides custom developments.
Reference.
In 2026, Timbtrack provided full traceability for timber from the Petcacab community forest in the Selva Maya (Mexico), from the tree to the finished piece of furniture. This work was presented at the Carrefour International du Bois 2026.
