ATIBT, a member of the “private sector” college of the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP), is pleased to announce the official launch of the “Belém Call to Action for the Forests of the Congo Basin”, a key moment in COP30 and the international forest calendar.
Presented on November 6, 2025, and celebrated at the ministerial level on November 18 at the UNFF (United Nations Forum on Forests) Forest Pavilion, this Appeal marks a major step forward in the global recognition of the services provided by the forests of Central Africa.
A historic ambition for the forests of the Congo Basin
Central African countries have announced a series of concrete commitments, while technical and financial partners have pledged to mobilize more than $2.5 billion over five years, in addition to national resources.
This is a strong signal, reflecting:
This joint commitment confirms a shared desire to preserve the world's second largest tropical forest, ensure climate resilience, and support the populations that depend on it.
A shared framework, originating in Libreville

This process demonstrates the continuity and political consistency between the regional capitals and COP30 in Belém.
A message that ATIBT will actively promote
Sustainable management, certification, the fight against deforestation, and the economic development of tropical forests are at the heart of ATIBT's mission.
The Belém Call to action reinforces the importance of:
ATIBT will continue to work alongside the CBFP and its partners to amplify the reach of this Appeal and transform ambition into concrete action.
