Regenerating Cameroon's forests: technical and scientific assessment of the UFA-REFOREST, RESSAC, and Guide to the Trees of Central Africa projects

Workshop on January 22, 2026, in Yaoundé, Cameroon: “Regenerating Cameroon's forests: technical and scientific review of the UFA-REFOREST, RESSAC, and Guide des Arbres d'Afrique centrale projects.” Organized by ATIBT, Nature +, Gemboux Agro-Bio Tech, and ENSET.

The UFA-REFOREST and RESSAC projects are funded by the European Union and CIFOR-ICRAF. They are implemented by a consortium comprising ATIBT, Nature+, Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech (University of Liège), the École Normale Supérieure de l'Enseignement Technique (ENSET) of the University of Douala, and four companies from the forestry and timber sector in Cameroon: PALLISCO, GRUMCAM-ALPICAM, SEFAC, and SEEF.

The aim of this event is to share the results obtained and lessons learned from these major initiatives in reforestation, scientific research, and support for sustainable forest management in Cameroon. It will bring together stakeholders from the forestry sector, government representatives, researchers, and technical and institutional partners.

It will also be an opportunity to present a new tool to support sustainable forest management: the Central African Tree Guide.
