CIB Olam Agri is a company specialised in logging, industrial processing and the marketing of timber. Based in Northern Congo since 1969, it is located in the Community of Pokola, in the Sangha Department.
CIB, a subsidiary of Olam Agri, manages 2.1 million hectares of tropical forests in the Republic of Congo, including a concession entirely dedicated to conservation. With nearly 1,700 employees, the company is FSC and PEFC certified and operates on an unprecedented scale in Central Africa, combining forestry production, conservation, and industrial processing.
Its model is based on long-term forest management, characterized by extremely low harvesting rates, low-impact logging, systematic protection of future trees, and detailed mapping of sensitive areas. This approach makes it possible to reconcile resource continuity, ecosystem maintenance, and supply stability.
CIB stands out for its integrated and industrialized value chain, with processing units (sawmills, dryers, and molding units) located at the heart of its concessions. This organization guarantees advanced traceability back to the tree, control over the technical performance of products, and the ability to meet the growing demands of international markets in terms of compliance, consistency, and transparency.
Beyond production, CIB plays a structuring role in forest areas. The company implements sustainable and operational social programs—hospitals, rural clinics, WASH programs, education, support for indigenous populations—and actively protects wildlife in partnership with authorities, specialized international organizations, and research institutes.
Through its scale, level of integration, and capacity for innovation, CIB exemplifies a unique model of certified tropical forestry on an industrial scale, capable of securing supply chains, reducing regulatory risks, and meeting the long-term expectations of its customers.
