05.02.2021

What is forest certification? How does it work in business ? Why safety at work is important ? What equipment is needed for safe logging ? The two new popularization short films provide simple answers to these questions.

Within the framework of the FLEGT-REDD, FLEGT-IP and FLEGT certification projects (financed respectively by the Fonds Français pour l'Environnement, the European Union and the PPECF), the Syndicat des Producteurs Industriels du Bois en Côte d'Ivoire (SPIB), the Union des Forestier et Industriels du Bois du Gabon (UFIGA) and ATIBT have commissioned the production of short films to raise awareness among stakeholders in the forest and timber sector on major issues involving the private sector.

The two short films presented today deal with forest certification and safety at work. They are part of a set of 9 short films classified in two collections : "good practices" and "great concepts" developed by three professional unions in the sub-region (UFIGA in Gabon, SPIB in Côte d'Ivoire and FIB in DRC) and ATIBT.

These two short films aim to raise awareness among stakeholders in the forestry sector and more particularly among companies and their employees.
