This international standard published in January 2019 specifies the chain of custody (CoC) requirements for wood products.
This standard, by its nature is voluntary in nature, is intended to serve as a basis for relations between economic, scientific, technical and social partners and is not applicable to forest management.
It defines a framework for the implementation of a chain of custody system to transmit product information. Different levels of traceability are distinguished according to whether the materials are certified, specified or verified.
This standard also includes the management of uncertainty in the achievement of objectives.
