It is with sadness that we announce the death of Mr Jacques ROUGIER, born on 16 December 1938 and deceased on 14 July 2025.
Jacques ROUGIER joined the Rougier company in 1964.
He was Chief Executive Officer of ROUGIER SA from 1982 to 2004, then Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2004 to 2018.
As reported by the media in the city of Niort, Jacques Rougier was the grandson of the founder, Alexandre Rougier, a self-taught engineer who in 1923 laid the foundations in Niort for what would become one of the major players in the global timber industry. He remained CEO until 2018. Together with his cousin Francis, he represented the third generation at the helm of a group with operations in Gabon and Congo, which in 2024 achieved a turnover of €95.5 million.
