As part of the 3rd edition of Climate Fortnight organized by the University of Liège (ULiège) from November 10 to 21, 2025, a conference-debate entitled "Wood, a material of the future? " will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Salle Académique du XX Août in Liège.
The event is free, but registration is required, and is part of the “Transition and Citizenship” series.
From an ancestral resource to a material of the future, wood is establishing itself as an essential ally in the fight against climate change. This meeting will be an opportunity to explore its many facets—from sustainable forest managementto its role in low-carbon construction and the bioeconomy—and to examine the conditions for its responsible use.
The evening will open with an introduction by Tom De Mil (Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech – ULiège), followed by a discussion bringing together:
