The 5th steering committee of the P3FAC project was held on November 25th, by videoconference

During the presentations and discussions, a series of recommendations were made by the Steering Committee members.

  1. What strategies should be put in place to ensure the long-term follow-up of the DYNAFAC collective's mechanisms (funding)?
  • Approach other donors to obtain additional funding. Explore in particular the opportunities offered by the European Union's Nature Africa program;
  • Make the States and the private sector responsible for ensuring the follow-up of the mechanisms (COMIFAC).
  1. How to ensure the animation of the DYNAFAC collective and the capitalization of results for a wide audience?
  • Positivize the communication around the results obtained by the DYNAFAC collective following the example of the Fair&Precious communication;
  • Prepare communication tools adapted to different audiences and in particular to policy makers.
  1. What tools should be implemented to ensure that the results of the DYNAFAC collective's research are taken into account in national regulations?
  • That COMIFAC initiates the science-policy dialogue at the regional level within its forest governance working group and sensitizes its States on the establishment of national consultation bodies comparable to the scientific advisory committee of MINFOF in Cameroon;
  • Build a communication strategy around the results of the research and develop an action plan for its implementation.
