ATIBT Ordinary General Assembly, June 19, 2026

17.07.2026

Our General Assembly was held on June 19 via videoconference, bringing together 82 members either participating online or represented out of the association’s 164 members, for a participation rate of 50%. The statutory quorum was comfortably met.

In her annual address, President Françoise Van de Ven reviewed the year 2025, which was marked by regulatory changes (EUDR, CITES), tensions in international markets, and debates on the role of tropical forests in addressing climate change. In this context, ATIBT continued its commitment to a responsible, sustainable, and credible tropical timber sector by strengthening dialogue among its members (companies, NGOs, government agencies, and experts).

Key points from the GA:

  • 2025 Annual Report approved
  • 2025 financial statements approved and 2026 budget adopted
  • No reports filed under the SEAH procedural framework
  • Presentation of the conclusions of the ATIBT working group, which recommends strengthening the association’s advocacy, marketing, and communication efforts, in addition to existing projects.
  • Four new members welcomed (Timber ID, STC, Likouala Timber, Triton)
  • Partial renewal of the Board of Directors, notably with Stéphane Rivain taking over as ATIBT treasurer.

Outlook for 2026/2027: strengthen cohesion among members, increase ATIBT’s influence in international debates, support companies in navigating new regulations, and continue promoting a tropical timber sector with a promising future. The GA was followed by a meeting dedicated to ATIBT projects, featuring presentations by the relevant teams on the progress and outlook for the association’s initiatives.

Thank you to all members, partners, and the ATIBT team for their commitment!
