A new member joined the Association this month: the company AETS Afrique, based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. It is a subsidiary of the AETS Group (Pau - France) specialised in expertise services and owned by its employees and affiliated to the APAVE Group.
AETS Afrique, a 40% subsidiary of the AETS Group, was created in 2019 in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire). AETS Afrique is a climate engineering office and a technical platform in West Africa dedicated to the responsible management of natural resources and their development in the context of the current major climatic and social changes. AETS Africa implements its skills and conducts missions in forest management and agroforestry, strategic or feasibility studies, management and supervision of forestry projects (reforestation, conservation, biodiversity, etc.), sustainable management of forest resources and support in terms of certification of traceability and legality of wood (FSC, PEFC, major international standards) and finally in the development of financing solutions.
AETS Africa has also developed a unique know-how in the sub-region in the field of energy efficiency where it is involved in various projects from renewable energy production (biomass, solar), the electricity network or aspects related to the decarbonisation of processes and value chains.
AETS Africa thus assists its clients in implementing the principles of carbon neutrality and carbon offsetting (Measure, Reduce, Offset). The team is able to develop and manage GHG emission reduction or sequestration projects (carbon sinks), propose and implement innovative financing mechanisms, strategies for choosing carbon credit standards adapted to projects (Gold Standard, Verra, REDD+, etc.), as well as complementary standards (CCB, FaireTrade Climate, etc.), and for distributing carbon and non-carbon benefits between governments, local communities and/or private concessionaires.
By relying on an essentially Ivorian staff with recognised expertise and a detailed knowledge of communities, environments and terroirs, AETS AF provides comprehensive support services to projects deployed in Côte d'Ivoire and the sub-region.
