OLB and PAFC Congo Basin standards: workshop on 19 November in Douala

06.11.2026

The PAFC/PEFC Congo Basin Coordination and Bureau Veritas Cameroon are organising a workshop on 19 November 2026 at the Sawa Hotel in Douala to present developments in the OLB and PAFC Congo Basin standards, alongside adaptations related to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

As legality, traceability and sustainability requirements evolve, this event will give forest sector stakeholders an opportunity to learn about the revised standards and better understand their practical implications.

The workshop will cover three main topics:

  • BV DDS services and adaptations of the OLB standards (Origine et Légalité des Bois — Timber Origin and Legality) to the EUDR;
  • The 2026 version of the PAFC Congo Basin standard and its updates;
  • The links between OLB and PAFC, highlighting how the two schemes can complement each other.

Discussions will focus on changes to the standards, the integration of auditors’ feedback, and preparation for deforestation-free requirements, as well as provisions relating to the origin and legality of products.
