Tropical timber:
from Legality to Market Recognition

ALIGNING NATIONAL LEGALITY & TRACEABILITY SYSTEMS WITH INTERNATIONAL MARKET EXPECTATIONS

CIB 2026 - ATIBT ROUNDTABLE - Tropical timber: from Legality to Market Recognition

This roundtable is organised jointly by ATIBT and Timber Development UK (TDUK) as part of the project “Engaging the Private Sector in National Sustainable Forestry Systems and International Trade”, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) under the FGMC2 programme.

For tropical timber-producing countries, the challenge is no longer only legality, but demonstrating credible, risk-mitigated and traceable supply chains that align with evolving international market expectations.

This session will bring together perspectives from across the supply chain to explore how national systems can support market confidence, support recognition, and unlock new trade opportunities.
