Update of the Timber Trade Portal: take part in the reflection workshop on 9 February

23.01.2026

As the entry into application of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) approaches, stakeholders in the timber sector are facing strengthened requirements in terms of compliance, traceability and due diligence.

In this new regulatory context, it is essential to have access to clear, reliable and operational information tools.

The Timber Trade Portal (TTP) is currently a reference source for information on the legality of producing countries under the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR). In order to maintain its relevance and adapt it to the challenges of the EUDR, a collective reflection will take place on 9 February to further develop the portal.

Workshops on 9 February to co-develop the future of the TTP

In this context, a reflection workshop dedicated to updating the Timber Trade Portal will be held in both French and English:

The aim of these workshops is to directly involve current and future users of the portal in the reflection on its future development. To help us prepare the workshop as effectively as possible, we invite you to complete this online survey:

A proposal for revising the country profiles and the overall structure of the website will be presented to participants. This proposal will serve as a basis for discussion, with the aim of gathering concrete feedback and guiding future decisions.

Objectives of the process

The planned update of the Timber Trade Portal aims in particular to:

  • integrate the new requirements of the EUDR (zero deforestation, due diligence, country information),
  • better align the portal with other international regulations, in particular CITES,
  • adapt the content, structure and usability of the website to the operational needs of users.

A user-focused workshop

The workshops on 9 February will in particular make it possible to:

  • assess participants’ interest in an evolution of the TTP and their potential willingness to join a tester working group,
  • collect practical feedback on the proposed new country profiles,
  • identify the information considered most useful and relevant for companies’ activities,
  • collectively reflect on how the TTP can become a genuine tool to support EUDR due diligence,
  • improve the readability, ease of use and operational value of the portal.

Your contribution is essential

User feedback and experience are crucial to ensure that the Timber Trade Portal evolves in line with the real needs of the sector and the new regulatory obligations.
