The mission is to develop a practical reference guide on traceability for companies in the timber sector of the Congo Basin. This guide aims to assist operators in complying with the requirements of the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) and the growing expectations of international markets. It will translate regulatory obligations into simple procedures, practical tools, and directly applicable recommendations. The document will help companies identify the essential data to collect, strengthen their traceability systems, and improve their level of maturity, regardless of their degree of digitization. It will include self-assessment tools, operational templates, action plans, and recommendations regarding interoperability. Particular attention will be paid to national specificities—through country-specific appendices—as well as to RDUE requirements and interoperability with public systems. The expected deliverable is an educational and operational guide of 25 to 30 pages, available in both print and digital formats.

The assignment will run from September to November 2026, with an estimated workload of 20 days. The maximum budget is set at €16,000 (all taxes included).

Applicants must demonstrate proven experience in traceability of timber and forest product supply chains, as well as in forest management and processing in the Congo Basin. The ability to produce concise visual content that can be directly applied in the field will also be evaluated.
