EUDR Community of Practice: Contribute to the discussion on legality due diligence

30.04.2026

A new survey launched ahead of the upcoming EUDR Community of Practice Core Group session invites stakeholders to share their perspectives on legality-related considerations. The results will directly inform discussions on due diligence and support the effective implementation of the regulation.

In preparation for the next session of the EUDR Community of Practice (CoP) Core Group, scheduled for 12 May, the European Forest Institute and the EU Sustainable Supply Chains Coalition have launched a short survey focusing on legality-related considerations within the EUDR framework.

This initiative aims to collect concrete feedback from stakeholders engaged in the implementation of the regulation. In particular, the survey seeks to better understand how legality due diligence is being interpreted and operationalized across different contexts and value chains.

The inputs gathered will feed directly into the discussions of the 3rd CoP Core Group session, dedicated to legality due diligence. Beyond the session itself, both the survey results and a summary of the exchanges will be shared with the wider Community of Practice, contributing to a more structured and informed dialogue among stakeholders.

For ATIBT members and partners, this represents an important opportunity to ensure that the specific realities of tropical timber value chains—where legality remains a complex and evolving challenge—are adequately reflected in ongoing policy discussions.

The survey is designed to be concise and should take approximately 10–15 minutes to complete. Contributions are expected by 7 May (COB CEST).

ATIBT encourages its members to actively participate and bring forward their expertise, helping to shape a pragmatic and effective approach to legality due diligence under the EUDR. Share your input
