PAFC Flash Webinar October,22 : a third session focusing on key social indicators

16.10.2026

On Thursday, 22 October 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (Central Africa Time), the third session in the “Flash” thematic training series will focus on key social indicators in the PAFC Congo Basin standard. Held online via Microsoft Teams as part of the Tropical Timber Trade Facility (TTT) project, it will provide practical answers to questions about implementing certification requirements.

Building on the previous sessions, this webinar will explore the social aspects of the PAFC Congo Basin standard. Its objective is to help professionals better understand the requirements, identify the evidence expected during audits and establish procedures suited to conditions on the ground.

A programme focused on company practices

During this two-hour training session, experts will address several essential topics:

  • Staff training and awareness: how to structure this function within the company;
  • The International Labour Organization’s (ILO) fundamental conventions and their implementation;
  • Occupational health and safety;
  • Managing subcontractors within the certification framework;
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication plans;
  • External and internal social action programmes.

These topics will be explored through practical explanations, concrete examples and shared experiences to support their day-to-day implementation.

Understanding the requirements and exchanging with trainers

The session will take a practical approach, clarifying requirements that raise questions, explaining auditors’ expectations and illustrating the procedures and supporting evidence needed.

A dedicated discussion period will allow participants to put their questions directly to the trainers. Participants are encouraged to prepare questions and examples of challenges they face in advance to enrich the discussions.

Who should attend?

The training is intended for forest concession holders, certification managers, auditors and government representatives. Some familiarity with FSC or PAFC standards is helpful but is not required.
