Marcin Makocki – TERRATIMBER has joined ATIBT.
Mr. Makocki is a professional forestry graduate from the Zagnansk Higher Technical School of Forestry, Poland (1988-93), Faculty of Forestry, Krakow Agricultural University, Poland (1993-98), Colegio de Postgraduados en Ciencias Agricolas, Mexico (1998-2000).
His main areas of interest are dendrology, ecology and management of temperate forests, and ecology and management of tropical forests. He worked for a while as Associate Professor-Researcher at Hidalgo State University in Mexico (2000-2001) and, after returning to Poland, he focused on the international timber trade with a focus on exotic wood species.
In April 2003, Mr Makocki was placed on the EuropeAid list of experts for technical assistance to third countries in the context of the European Community’s external cooperation as an individual expert in the following areas:
• Engineering / Technology
• Rural Development / Food Security and Training / Culture and Information.
In 2009, he founded TERRATIMBER, which operates as an importer, wholesaler of wood products and also as an agent / broker providing global marketing support to the forest products industry and other services (conferences, seminars, consulting) for the forest community.
His unipersonal company has an FSC certified chain of custody. TERRATIMBER, according to its turnover, joins ATIBT as an individual member.
