On the sidelines of this trade fair, the Tropical Forestry Forum in the Congo Basin will take place on May 22 at the Cologne Zoo. Co-organized by ATIBT, FSC, WWF Germany, and Utrecht University, this meeting will bring together experts, politicians, scientists, economists, NGOs, and the media to discuss sustainable forest management, responsible supply chains, and the role of certification.
Tropical timber is particularly controversial in Germany, so this conference will aim to debunk myths using current data. The model of sustainable forest management in the Congo Basin and its role in biodiversity and the fight against climate change will be presented.
