Bonus Harvest Inaugurates a Solar Power Plant in a Forest Concession: A Concrete Step Toward the Energy Transition

20.03.2026

Our member Bonus Harvest recently reached a major milestone by inaugurating a solar power plant located in the heart of a forest concession. This initiative demonstrates how forestry companies can combine production, sustainable management, and the energy transition, providing concrete solutions to reduce the carbon footprint of forest operations

The energy transition is also gaining momentum within forest concessions in the Congo Basin. Bonus Harvest has just inaugurated a solar power plant designed to power its facilities, an innovative initiative in the forestry sector.

This infrastructure aims, in particular, to reduce dependence on diesel generators—traditionally used in remote forest areas—while improving the energy efficiency of operations. The solar facility will thus help limit greenhouse gas emissions and further align forestry activities with a framework of responsible and sustainable production. Beyond the technological aspect, this initiative illustrates a broader evolution in the sector: companies committed to sustainable forest management are exploring new solutions to reconcile economic activity, ecosystem protection, and innovation. For ATIBT, this type of project demonstrates that the forest-wood sector can be an active player in the ecological transition by developing solutions tailored to the realities on the ground in tropical forest regions.

We invite you to read the full article published by Bonus Harvest to learn more about this project and its prospects.
