With support of the PPECF 3 program, the CNDB, at the initiative of ATIBT, organized a webinar entitled “Building and Designing with Tropical Wood.”
This webinar is part of the development of a new ATIBT guide dedicated to functional requirements. The guide was written to highlight the benefits of certified tropical timber in construction and to facilitate its use among project owners and designers.
The publication first explores current trends in the production and markets of tropical timber, and then presents 13 product families, detailing their performance characteristics and the functional requirements to be specified in technical specifications (CCTPs).
The guide is available in French and English on our website, with Italian and German translations coming soon.
This webinar, available on our YouTube channel, features insights from several architects sharing their experiences with tropical timber construction projects. It also includes a presentation on sustainable forest management and an overview of the guide by Jean Gérard, a researcher at CIRAD.
