FSC® Africa welcomes the new Congo Basin and West Africa Coordinator

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) Africa is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Piemme Epie as the new Coordinator, Congo Basin and West Africa. Patrick brings to the role extensive experience in delivering forest governance and biodiversity conservation projects in West and Central Africa within the NGO sector.

FSC Bassin du Congo

With a background in environmental science, quality management, and occupational health and safety, Patrick will represent FSC in the sub-region and lead the management of the FSC Congo Basin Sub-regional Office.

In this capacity, Patrick will be responsible for developing and implementing a sub-regional programme that aligns with and contributes to the delivery of the FSC Mission as outlined in the Global Strategy 2021-2026.

As the Coordinator, Patrick will also lead the operational (technical, administrative, and financial) planning and delivery of the FSC Global Strategy in the sub-region, with the goal of achieving at least 10 million hectares of FSC-certified forest in the Congo Basin by 2026.

The 3 Basins Summit in Brazzaville was an opportunity for the ATIBT to meet the new Coordinator and his team, including Ida Navratilova Oye Obam, FSC Manager for Gabon, and Israel Boinyi, FSC Communications Manager for the Congo Basin.
