A workshop on the digitization of forestry procedures
The main objective of this workshop was to present the new online procedure for submitting applications for the exploitation, processing, and marketing of forest products for the 2026 financial year.
Discussions focused on several key topics:
· the process for applying for administrative permits online, particularly for the resumption of activities in Forest Exploitation Perimeters (PEFs) and for exporters' approvals for wood products;
· the Technical Standards for Forest Exploitation of timber and service wood;
· planning and monitoring/evaluation tools such as the logging inventory, the Annual Activity Plan (PAA), and the Annual Activity Report (RAA);
· progress in implementing the APV-FLEGT and preparations for the entry into force of the RDUE.
Fruitful discussions and a desire for greater collaboration
The participants unanimously praised the relevance of the topics covered, the quality of the presentations, and the fruitful discussions.
Many representatives of the private sector expressed their desire to see this type of initiative repeated on a regular basis in order to consolidate the dialogue between the forestry administration and economic operators in the timber sector.
The establishment of the digital dematerialization platform was particularly highlighted as a major step forward for forest governance, contributing to greater transparency and improved administrative efficiency.
