Every tree planted is a promise for the future. On the occasion of National Tree Day 2026, ATIBT joined the national effort to help restore forest cover and remind everyone that preserving forests is a shared responsibility.
ATIBT, the technical implementation partner for the PASSAD-Forêts project, took part in the official celebration of National Tree Day (JNA) 2026, held on July 10, 2026, in Bouaké, on Campus 2 of Alassane Ouattara University.
Under the theme “Every Tree Counts: I’m Planting My Tree,” this year’s event brought together government officials, technical and financial partners, local authorities, civil society organizations, companies in the forestry sector, and numerous citizens—all united around the national goal of restoring forest cover.
Beyond the symbolic act of planting, the National Tree Planting Day serves as a special opportunity for raising awareness and collective action. It underscores that the restoration of forest cover is a shared responsibility that requires the commitment of all stakeholders: public authorities, the private sector, local communities, and development partners.
On this occasion, the ATIBT delegation—composed of Célestin AHOUTOU, PASSAD-Forêts Project Manager, and Henri-Michel ELLA, Technical Assistant—carried out the symbolic planting of a tree. This gesture reflects ATIBT’s commitment to supporting the Ivorian government in its efforts to restore forest cover, promote the sustainable management of forest resources, and develop a responsible timber sector.
Through its participation in this celebration, ATIBT reaffirms its support for national initiatives aimed at preserving and restoring forest ecosystems, in line with the objectives of the PASSAD-Forêts project and Côte d’Ivoire’s commitments to sustainable forest management and the fight against deforestation.
