The 16th China Global Wood Trade Conference will take place from 3 to 5 September 2026 in Rizhao, Shandong Province. This annual gathering will bring together Chinese and international timber industry stakeholders to discuss market developments, international trade flows and the outlook for wood products trade.
Organised by the China Timber and Wood Products Distribution Association (CTWPDA), the China Global Wood Trade Conference has provided a meeting point for international timber trade stakeholders active in the Chinese market since 2011. Each year, the event attracts more than 1,000 participants from over 20 countries, including companies, industry associations, experts and institutional representatives.
The 16th edition comes at a time when China remains a major market for wood products. In 2025, the country imported 65.55 million m³ of timber, including 31.38 million m³ of logs and 24.06 million m³ of sawn timber.
The programme will address developments in the Chinese economy, changes in global timber supply and the current situation and outlook for China’s timber industry. Sustainable tropical timber trade will also have a dedicated forum on 4 September. Business matchmaking sessions and an industry visit will complete the programme.
For ATIBT, the conference will provide an opportunity to follow developments in the Chinese market and the outlook for international tropical timber trade, while continuing dialogue with timber sector stakeholders in China.
An ATIBT delegation will attend this year’s conference.
