The next meeting of the ATIBT Carbon & Biodiversity Commission (C&BC) will take place on 16 July 2026 and will focus on a topic that is becoming increasingly critical: the adaptation of tropical forests to climate change. Open to all, this online meeting will bring together scientists, forest managers and stakeholders from across the forest sector to share knowledge, exchange experiences and identify priorities for research, action and financing.
The next meeting of the ATIBT Carbon & Biodiversity Commission will be dedicated to the adaptation of tropical forests to climate change.
The impacts of climate change are now being observed across many tropical forest ecosystems. Yet adaptation remains insufficiently integrated into forest management systems, forest management plans, corporate strategies and national policies. While climate change mitigation benefits from a range of financing opportunities, including carbon markets and REDD+ mechanisms, financing for adaptation remains largely overlooked.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to:
The discussions will contribute to the ongoing study being carried out by TEREA, Secretariat of the Carbon & Biodiversity Commission, for the AFD Scientific and Technical Forest Committee (CST-F) on this important topic.
