International Forum : Together towards global green supply chains

31.10.2019

An extraordinary 21st edition, the photos available.

The ATIBT team left Shanghai on Saturday, October 26 after a busy week.

For the first time since its launch in 1982 in Rome, the ATIBT International Forum, which brings together experts from the tropical forest-wood sector in cities around the world every two years, was co-organized with other organizations:

– CTWPDA

– GGSC

– ITTO

ATIBT warmly thanks its partners for hosting and organizing this forum, as well as the donors who supported the realization of this event.

About sixty ATIBT member participants were present for a total of 350 participants and 61 speakers and panelists, thank you all for your presence, your dynamism and your multiple contributions to this common event!

Several highlights marked these 4 days of forum:

– Opening ceremony with speeches by Minister Lee White, Minister Eva Mueller and Minister Rosalie Matondo via video message.

– UFIAG and UFIGA Agreement

– MoU CTWPDA and ATIBT

– Side event and visit of the wood museum

– Company visits: Treessun, Sunnyard, Starforest.

– Diverse and rich interventions

A great deal of information has been shared, which will need to be understood and further developed in future exchanges with our Chinese partners, with the objective of jointly promoting the principles of sustainable tropical forest management and the value of legal and sustainable tropical timber in our supply chains. We will soon release the speakers’ presentations and send a questionnaire to participants to gather their opinions. We will not fail to inform you about the future developments resulting from these beautiful meetings.   In the meantime, you can follow a photo of the event: https://v.alltuu.com/album/1023740046/?from=timeline&isappinstalled=0
