The reports of the state of play of the private sector timber industry in the Congo Basin available

Within the scope of the FLEGT REDD Certification projects, financed by the FFEM, the European Union and the KFW through PPECF, 4 status reports on the private forest sector were produced. These studies draw up the state of play of the private sector actors of the forest wood sector in the Congo Basin countries targeted by the projects.

  • Gabon

The study was carried out by ROSCEVAC experts in three provinces of Gabon, namely the Estuary, Ogooué-Lolo and Ogooué-Maritime. The three provinces constitute an important production, employment and infrastructure basin.

The study was entrusted to a team of national consultants from the “Sustainable Development Engineering” (I2D) study firm.

The FIB was supported by the Ecole Régionale Post-universitaire d’Aménagement et de gestion Intégrés des Forêts et territoires Tropicaux (ERAIFT) in its implementation. Begun in August 2019, the study lasted 4 months and was completed at the end of December 2019.
